Today Dale and I went to see my twin nephews race at Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Fyffe, Alabama. It is just a dirt track and you will get dirty, but it sure is fun watching. It is $10.00 for the Grand Stands and $30.00 for the Pits. They are now 15 years old and they first started last year when they were 14 years old. This has been the first chance we have gotten to go watch them. They are numbers 22 and 25. # 25 came in 2nd and # 22 came in 4th. There were only 4 cars in their division but they but their hearts into it. Before the race started the drivers had a trunk or treat for all the kids that were there. This was so neat to see the drivers park on the track and have the kids come out all dressed up and have fun. One thing I have notice at the few races I have been at over the past year is this...they always highlight "family" and "children", say the Pledge of Allegiance, a prayer for the drivers, and sing "The Star Spangled Banner".
The Demolition Derby is coming to the Etowah County Fairgrounds on December 1, 2018 and if my husband can find a car, he will be driving in it. The first time I ever went to one was last year and it was so much fun. It was cold and wet but so much fun. Plus, it is cheap fun for a whole family. It is $5.00 per person for age 7 and up, 6 and under are free.
Check out the pictures from today.
This is what Dale does when I try to take his picture!
